Synopsis
Democracy is in crisis. Around the world, elected leaders are dismantling democratic institutions and undermining civil liberties while retaining the appearance of popular legitimacy.
Filmed over three years in five countries, Freedom for the Wolf investigates the global rise of illiberal democracy. From student activists in Hong Kong to a rapper in post-Arab Spring Tunisia and viral comedians in Bollywood, the film follows people fighting to defend their freedoms against increasingly authoritarian governments.
